TOPIC: Site Upgrades

Re:Site Upgrades 9 years 6 months ago #11

Joomla has been upgraded to version 1.5.19 which resolves a couple of minor security issues also has upgraded mootools in preparation of Joomla 1.6 (Hopefully later this year).

Community Builder has been upgraded to version 1.2.3 which resolves a couple of minor bugs.

Community Captcha has been upgraded to version 2.2.2 which removes a few bugs. This also means that the site no longer has to run in legacy mode and as a result the site should run slightly faster (not that anyone is likely to notice) and be more stable.

JoomGallery has been upgraded to version 1.5.0.5 which removes a couple of minor issues.

Kunena has been upgraded to version 1.5.12 which resolves a couple of minor security issues and a few bugs.

If anyone finds any bugs or has any questions please either post on the forum or send me a private message or email thanks.

Joomla has been upgraded from 1.5.19 to 1.5.20 which resolves a security issue.

The contact form (aiContactSafe) has been upgraded from 2.0.8 to 2.0.11 which resolves several minor bugs.

The Gallery (JoomGallery) has been upgraded from 1.5.0.5 to 1.5.5.2 which resolves several bugs.

Hopefully in a few weeks their will be a forum upgrade. We are currently running the latest version which is 1.5.12.
The new version will be 1.6.x which has a lot of new features one of which is polls. It will also be compatible with the next version of Joomla Which will also be version 1.6.x; this is still under beta testing but is hoped to be stable soon.

I have been beta testing the new forum and have been impressed.

Community Builder has been upgraded from v1.2.3 to v1.3.1

Joomgallery has been upgraded from v1.5.6.2 to v1.5.6.3

The Newsletter software Communicator has been removed and replaced with AcyMailing which offer us greater flexibility. We can also send file attachments with this new software which means items like the fixture list can be sent out in a pdf format for ease of printing etc.

The Weblinks pages have also been enhanced using "Weblinks with Thumbshots" software which displays a thumbnail of the webpage. Please note that not all webpages will have a thumbnail image, it depends whether the developer has covered the site that is being linked to, but most sites will be covered.

If anyone finds any bugs or has any questions please either post on the forum or send me a private message or email thanks

The club website has gone through a major upgrade, the following have been upgraded.

Joomla from v1.5.24 to v2.5.4
AcyMailing from v3.0.0 to v3.6.0
aiContactSafe from v2.0.16 to v2.0.17b
Community Builder from v1.7.1 to v1.8
JoomGallery fromv1.5.7.5 to v2.5.0
Kunena from v1.7.1 to v1.7.2
uddeIM from v2.1 to v2.7

The database has also been upgraded from mySQL to mySQLi

The website no longer resides in a sub directory so the URL is www.bembridge-ac.co.uk so www.bembridge-ac.co.uk/main will no longer work, which means your bookmarks will have to be updated.

Due to the increasing level of spam registrations on the site I have added some new antispam software to reduce the registrations from bots, this includes a new form of captcha which asks a simple question and you have to put the answer in the box instead of copying the characters in the image. Other features include ip logging and blocking after 5 failed attempts. For your own security users will also be blocked after 5 failed login attempts, if you are blocked please contact me via the contact us page and I will unblock your account and issue you with a new password.

Also the following site software has been upgraded.

Joomla has been upgraded from version 2.5.7 to 2.5.11
Kunena Forum has been upgraded from version 2.0.4 to 3.0.0
AcyMailing has been upgraded from version 4.2.0 to 4.3.0

If anyone has any problems please let me know by sending a message via the contact us page.
